Well, when I said I was back after my long hiatus, I was apparently lying because I immediately proceeded to not post anything for almost 3 months. Whoops. So in order to get back on the proverbial blogging horse, I’ve decided to make some of my entries a little more stream of conscious like. I have no real reservations about this because I know literally no one reads this blog, which is just fine with me. Actually if you’re reading this right now, do me a favor and stop. Please. I’m begging you. I’d feel awful knowing that someone was wasting precious moments of their life reading my brain farts and exercises in keeping my writing skills existent, when there’s a big ol’ world out there. Instead throw open the window! Sing to the birds perched in the tree outside your window, like a rosey cheeked Disney Princess! Read a book, newspaper, magazine, something, anything you can hold in your little paws! Or (dare I say it) turn off every electronic device that you own and step outdoors. My God! The sunshine! It’s so bright!
“Fauxgo”: a symbol or other small design created to represent a fictional company or organization that exists only on film. It’s kind of ridiculous how many of these I would wear on a t-shirt here are some of my favorites and here is the link to a site documenting their existence. The site: Fauxgo
So it’s been almost two years since I was posting here fairly regularly, and I am fully aware that the only traffic this blog gets is people happening to pass on through, but since graduating from college last December, I’ve had little to no opportunity to write something, anything. (as evidenced by that really poorly constructed sentence I just typed) So, I’m firing up ol’ Define Immature again, to post about anything that tickles my fancy, funny-bone, or …… trying to think of another word that starts with “f” that means brain. Oh boy, my head has turned into mush.
As if Matt Damon wasn’t cute enough here he is as Santa Claus, for water.org trying to get some kids to want water bottles for Christmas. Hilarious, adorable and for a good cause.
Is it bad / weird I thought of Beauty and the Beast when I saw this? Dear God, please make me rich some day so I could own this bookshelf, that many books, and have the leisure time to read those books
Movies are visual right? Exactly. In recent decades there have been some great movies that are either about Christmas specifically or set around that time, so here are some movies that I think should not be forgotten when thinking about which Holiday flick to watch this season. So, In no specific order:
So many amazing quotes from this movie I just don’t know where to begin, “Buddy the Elf, What’s your favorite color?”, “What’s a Christmas Gram? I want one!”, “I just like to smile, smiling’s my favorite.” All amazing.
Bill Murray. Need I say more? (if yes. one: you’re insane and two: Carol Kane as the ghost of christmas present. Done)
3. Christmas Vacation
Chevy Chase is great and all (… I miss Community already :(….) but cousin Eddie is what makes Christmas Vacation great. Screw Dennis, Randy Quaid is my favorite brother, even though he is certifiably insane. Keeps things interesting, right?
4. The Ref
Definitely a lesser known movie, which is a real shame cause it’s great. Dennis Leary plays a cat burglar who takes a crazily funny / dysfunctional family hostage on Christmas Eve. I have no idea how you would find this movie to watch it because Netflix isn’t streaming it right now and going out and renting a movie is something no one ever does anymore, so here is my Christmas gift to you: The Ref on YoutubeWatch It!
5. Lethal Weapon / Die Hard
I know these two are stretching it a bit, but they are both set at Christmas time, and they’re both great in their own right, so there. Also, Lethal Weapon 5, might be my favorite one. The Die Hard video is actually a small bit from a recent interview / panel thing Alan Rickman was at. Can you imagine being Alan Rickman, having the amazing career and talent he has, and still being asked questions about fucking Die Hard?
I know there are more, one’s that I’m either aware of, not aware of or just don’t like / haven’t seen but since this post has literally taken 40 minutes (which is like 30 too long), I’m done. And now I want to watch all of these movies and so should you.
